  • Duck Race Fundraising event on Saturday the 25th of March

This annual event takes place on the River Lavant .

400 numbered plastic ducks ( each one being sold at a £1 ) are launched into the river and prizes are awarded to the first three ducks to arrive at the finish line. There is also a booby prize for the last duck. Sailability members Jenny and Gina Quest also braved the trip down the river to ensure all ducks arrive at their intended destination.

A total of £404 was raised.

  • Saturday the 8th of April renaming of Wayfarer dinghy

The Sailability Wayfarer was renamed in memory of former Sailability volunteer helper Wendy Prior who joined in 2009.

Wendy was ever present at work parties making tea and making sure there was a good supply of biscuits. During the sailing season she would help allocate members to the relevant boats.

Wendy took the post of Committee Treasurer in 2015 and enjoyed the responsibility up until she became ill in 2018.

She was awarded the Dolphin Trophy as Helper of he Year in 2017.

Wendy passed away in 2021 of a brain virus.

The renaming ceremony was blessed with fine weather and was followed with a barbecue.
