NEWS Wooden Boatshed

Published 16:05 on 6 Feb 2025

Dear All Cruiser Owners

The wooden boatshed has had a thorough clean out and a huge amount of junk has been cleared away.

Please could all members refrain from leaving waste (from work done) in the boatshed - please take your rubbish home. Also, please don't leave odd bits of unwanted boating paraphernalia in either of the two boatsheds. If it's junk at home, it's junk in the boatshed!

As for the clear-up, we have removed a large number of ladders that have no owner/boat name on them plus some that relate to boats/members no longer at the Club.

The same apples to oars.

There is, of course, a risk that some items are actually wanted by current members. If so, the ladders are up by the containers. They are locked up to prevent unwanted visitors from using them to access boats. The oars have been put inside one of the containers.

If anyone wants to liberate ladders or some oars, please contact me or Ray Waterson.

The pictures show the size of the ladder/oars piles. There are some canoe paddles that should have names on them (please). Also, there are what looks like some boat bunk bases in the corner of the boatshed. Would the owners please put a name on them (or preferably remove them).

Anyone returning stuff to the boatshed please note the requirement to put your name or the boat name on your possessions.

Gerry Wood
