Malcolm sets sail on his circumnavigation of British Isles

Unable to join us on the cruiser rally programme this year LSC member, Malcolm Brent has a worthy excuse. He is otherwise engaged, undertaking a circumnavigation of the British Isles!!
Having set off at 6.00am on the 15th June from his mooring in Itchenor Reach. Malcolm is 3 weeks (at the time of writing) into his anti-clockwise journey and making good progress having visited a number of harbours already, including, Ramsgate, Harwich, Southwold, Wells and is now weatherbound in Amble, Northumberland. Next stop Lindersfarn.
On leaving Southwold at 01.30am in the pitch black he nearly grounded, gently nudging the piles on the way out arriving 1 hour before high water into Wells -on-sea , with an escort from the harbour master for the last part to make sure he safely arrived.
Malcolm is expecting his journey to take him in the region of 3 months, but as we know everything hinges on the weather conditions.
I'm sure Malcolm will be reading his LSC monthly Newsletter, wherever he may be, so a big shout out to you Malcolm from all at LSC, keep going and good sailing.
