As the Bembridge Rally comes to an end and club boats make their way back across the Solent, representing for some, possibly the final sail of the season, comfort can be had by reflecting on what a great sailing season the summer of 2026 has been.
The last rally of the club calander to Bembridge Harbour proved once again a great opportunity to sail in company and get together and socialise with like minded club members, and eventhough the sea gremlins were out in force causing 1 or 2 marine engines not to start or overheat, most boats had a great sail over. Drinks on the pontoon, and a pizza meal in the Duver Cafe proved an enjoyable affair as did the following evenings get together at The Vine pub. Over the 3 days members took full advantage of the great coastal walks, and bus links to get out and about on the Island. Looking ahead to the 2027 season you will be pleased to know that the rally programme has already been booked, and berths reserved at the following destinations. May - Island Harbour Marina, June - Yarmouth Harbour, July - Beauliue River and finally September - Bembridge Harbour. Here's looking forward to a kind winter and an opportunity to get some of those jobs done on the boat.

The final rally of the season and an opportunity to get together and celebrate another great year of being out on the water, sailing and socialising with like-minded club members.
To close off the season we have booked 12 berths at the very popular Bembridge Harbour Marina. This is a firm favourite on the rally calendar and will be even better this year with their new facilities alongside Steve's Bar and the Duver café, why not try their lovely sausage or bacon breakfast baps.
This is a (3 night) 4-day rally, arriving on
Friday 11th September and departing on Monday 14thth September, although members will have the option of booking just 1 night, eg: Saturday night should they wish.
Bembridge Harbour, being a straightforward sail from the entrance of Chichester / Langstone harbour is accessible on spring/medium tides to 1.5m draft vessels approximately 3 hours +/ - HW (Portsmouth HW) and is the perfect location for the seasoned and novice sailor.
- On Friday 11th September, there will be pre dinner drinks on the pontoon at 5.00pm with the choice of eating on your own boat or ordering a delicious hand-stretched sourdough Pizza at the Duver Café at 6.30pm ish (pre-orders will be collected nearer the time)
- On Saturday 12th September, there will be pre dinner drinks on the pontoon at 5.00pm followed by dinner at The Vine in St Helens at 7pm. Please note it is a 20 - minute uphill walk to the pub, or you can always book yourself a taxi if you prefer.
- On Sunday 13th September, no dining arrangements have been made.
We have 12 berths booked in the rally rafting area, however there will be an opportunity for members to book a pontoon berth, if preferred, nearer the time.
Closing date for completed booking form is 11th August (latest)
