The general committee have approved two major projects:

  • replacement of Chichester Tender pen fence.
  • an extension to the west side of the existing club.

The extension will be single storey with a balcony above with seating and stainless steel and glass balustrade, the new room is to be called the Toby Hamer Room, the room will be multi purpose and be used for meetings, training and juniors.

Toby Hamer was a well respected club member who sadly died in a canoe accident in 2017 aged 23. He gave his time freely as a sailing instructor, was a keen Junior racer and contributed to 6 Junior weeks. He was also our first power boat instructor.

The club has achieved major projects over the years and many have been completed by Club Members savings tens of thousands of pounds and thus maintaining the cost of membership affordable for many. Being part of these projects is hugely rewarding and if these new projects are built by members there will be further huge savings to the club. Fortunately we have many skilled builders as members of the club who will ensure the highest quality of build but we need many others with basic skills to come forward and help.

Cost estimate for the tender pen is £6000.00, and the extension £30000.00,

Work on the tender pen fence will commence on Wednesday 23rd Feb, and the extension will start on Monday 28th, both projects are in the main to be completed by club members, if you can help please contact the project manager, Ray Waterson.
