The Green Blue and the Final Straw Foundation Single Use Plastic Free Accreditation - SILVER Award

We are proud to announce that LSC has been awarded the SILVER Plastic Free Accreditation Award.

The BRONZE accreditation was awarded to LSC only in February this year.

A great achievement in such a short time for our Environment Team led by Claire Ashton.

Next challenge is GOLD!

Well done to all the team

The Green Blue and the Final Straw Foundation joined forces to launch a Single-Use Plastic Free Accreditation. Aimed at inland and marine clubs, training centres and boating businesses, the new standard will highlight the responsible and innovative products and practices by organisations in the recreational boating industry.

Mandatory removals

BRONZE Award

1. Plastic straws, including bio-plastic (read why here)

2. Single-use plastic glasses

3. Plastic Free Champion or Ambassador can be the same as the Environmental Officer

4. Single-use plastic cutlery

5. Polystyrene food and drink containers

SILVER AWARD

1. Single-use plastic bottles (water etc)

2. Single-use plastic lined hot drink cups most disposable coffee cups have a plastic lining

3. Cling film

4. Tea bags containing plastic lots of plastic-free brands available now and single-use plastic packaged coffee. No Single Use Plastic Pods etc.

5. Condiment packets, e.g. ketchup, vinegar etc.

GOLD AWARD

1. No plastic milk bottles (refills or glass)

2. Office supplies (no plastic windows in envelopes, request plastic free deliveries etc)

3. Compost all food scraps

4. Remove all single use plastic food packaging

5. All expanded polystyrene must be covered (benches, stands, seats etc.)
