Thank you to all those who have supported the Galley since re-opening either by completing duties or consuming the goodies. We have had some wonderful specials prepared. In future, Galley Specials will be advertised on the LSC Website, not Facebook, keep an eye out for them.

I have been keeping a tally of what is most popular: the new items are ordered so I will keep them on the menu for now. We are open to different food suggestions, if you would like to see something new, let me know.

We had a great Jubilee Fun Day. Over 80 for afternoon tea and providing the salads at the BBQ for 120. Thank you to all the ladies who grabbed a knife to butter bread, cut crusts, grated cheese, boiled rice, shred chicken and make scones etc, what a team!

The next event is the Langstone Regatta and the Prentice Plate on Saturday 2 nd July. I need volunteers to assist in putting out ready made sandwiches, cooking a few sausage rolls, setting up and clearing away for our members and visitors. You will not be alone and it is fun (honestly). If you can spare a couple of hours,

Watch the Website for a 'Grill and Grub' night, details to be confirmed shortly.

If you would like to plan and run an event, please do, it counts as a duty (now, there's incentive) and would be great to see the club room used more often.

I'm still looking for Galley Crew members to assist with food purchasing (a quick supermarket run suffices) and running through the various items with newcomers; 30 mins max on an opening. We're a friendly crowd, please do get in contact if you are able to help.

17 th July will see the galley closed unless there are volunteers and from September onwards there are lots of free dates

Lastly, a gentle reminder: There are no 'Galley Fairies' to magically keep it clean and tidy. If you take clean items froma cupboard, please ensure you wash, dry and put away again. It is unfair to assume others will clear up after you (including wiping the worktops clean).

Whilst open, ONLY those on galley duty are allowed in thekitchen area. Your adherence to this is appreciated

Paula Brisley
