LSC INTERNET USAGE POLICY

Due to LSC's physical location we are very limited in access to internet connectivity.

To get acceptable data speeds to run the security cameras, use card readers in the bar/galley and allow remote access to club meetings, we have had to take a data-limited solution, like most mobile phone contracts.

Over the summer there have been some peaks in data usage at the club that have resulted in additional cost to the club.

As a result we are asking that members' use of club wifi should be limited to general Internet, email and social media access and should exclude streaming of video (including through social media) or video conference calls unless on LSC business.

Anybody wanting to stream video or video call should do it from their mobile phone connection. This includes non- terrestrial channels on the club television.

Once a provider becomes available who is able to provide us unlimited data with suitable access speeds, this policy will be reviewed.
