Bart's Bash

Following on from the sad news of the demise of Queen Elizabeth II the nation has entered a period of mourning. Many sporting activities have been cancelled or postponed as a result, including activities at some local sailing clubs.

Bart's Bash is still planned to go ahead this weekend. The intention is to come together as a sailing community to remember Her Majesty. Inspired by her spirit, strength, and resilience over the years of her reign, we will join together to commemorate her life of service to the nation.

We are comfortable that this is in line with Palace, Government and RYA guidance. However, it will be a lower-key event than originally envisaged. The prize-giving which normally follows Bart's Bash will be postponed until the prize-giving party in November. We will incorporate a respectful one-minute silence, but the post-race galley opening has been cancelled, as has the galley opening on Sunday.
