Official opening of The Toby Hamer Room - Thursday 17th August at 5pm

The opening ceremony of the Toby Hamer Room was well attended with Toby's family being guests of honour.

It was conducted by Owen Davies, our Commodore who highlighted Toby's contribution to the club, and all the club members who helped to build the new room.
We were lucky on Thursday afternoon with the nice weather for the ceremony.

The ceremony took place in the middle of junior week which was fitting with Toby's significant involvement in the junior section.

The much needed room will be used by the Juniors, for training, and meetings. The bonus is the new west terrace above for all members to enjoy.

Toby Hamer was a well respected club member who sadly died in a canoe accident in 2017 aged 23.
He gave his time freely as a sailing instructor, was a keen Junior racer and contributed to 6 Junior weeks. He was also our first power boat instructor.
