Hosts for the event Gerry Woods & Owen Davies

This being the club's 6 th planned rally of the season (with 2 rallies remaining) we thought it would be a great idea to organise a rally that would hopefully appeal to many of our cruiser members, the new to cruising member, the season hand, the midweeker or weekender, but most importantlycruising boats of all shapes and sizes.

So, over this 4-day rally you have the opportunity to join us at West Cowes - Shephard's Marina on the Friday night 18thAugust or sail directly to Southampton Town Quay on the Saturday 19th August for the weekend.

  • Friday 18th August - Shephard's Marina West Cowes (Chichester HW 13.49)

Shephard's Marina is an access at all states of the tide marina, located just inside the river Medina offering good berthing facilities and creating the opportunity to raft together in one area. The marina location gives easy walking access to West Cowes and its sailing shops, bars, and restaurants.

There will be drinks on the pontoon from 6.30pm, although no dining arrangements has been made, giving the skippers the flexibility to make their own arrangements.

  • Saturday 19th to Monday 21st August Southampton Town Quay Marina (Portsmouth HW 14.02)

For those who have not sailed in company down Southampton Water, this is an exciting opportunity to enjoy sailing down this mile wide estuary flanked on the western side by the New Forest and 6 miles from the top of the Solent towards the historic city of Southampton, with its museums, theatres, cinemas and a large choice of shops and cafés.

The area benefits from double high waters or a long stand of the tide, but once within Southampton Water itself it is not necessary to use the shipping channel. Adequate water exists outside the channel.

On arrival at Southampton Town Quay there will be drinks on the pontoon at 5.30pm and for those who want to join us, tables have been booked at the Bayleaf Kitchen (Indianrestaurant) at 7.30pm which is easy walking distance from the marina. Bayleaf Kitchen

  • Sunday 20th August Free day to enjoy this historic city.
  • Monday 21st August (Portsmouth HW 15.04)
