The club has just acquired a St Ayles skiff.

Some information about the skiff:

"Zandenise" - Built by the Good Soil Project community at Top Barn Farm, Strangford, Ross-on-Wye.

Launched in 2016 by the Rt Reverand Dr John Inge, Lord Bishop of Worcester after whose late wife, Denise Inge, the boat is named.

Designed by Iain Oughtred and inspired by the traditional based Fair Isle Skiff. The St Ayles is a very stable boat for 5 people, one being the coxwain. They have been raced in Force 6 winds, with 4 ft waves over 13ft swells, and the only water that came in was from the spray off the wave crests!

As of 2017, over 200 boats have been built worldwide, mostly by communities around the Scottish coast but increasingly by groups elsewhere, including England, Northern Ireland, The Netherlands, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Length: 22ft

Beam: 5ft 8in

Weight: 155kg upwards

Construction: Clinker Plywood from kit
