LSC JUNIOR WEEK 2021

LSC Junior Week planning would, in a normal year, be well under way with bookings taken months ago. In this second Covid year, we have been watching, waiting and trying to anticipate what the status, government position and RYA advice will be, come the 22nd August.

We now have sufficient confidence that we will be able to provide RYA training, that we are opening the official bookings for LSC Junior Week 2021 BOOKING below FOR LSC MEMBERS ONLY :

The details below are what we currently plan - changes in government or RYA guidance could change the number of participants, the format and even put the week in jeopardy.
Even if it goes ahead we face a number of risks that again might change the format or our ability to provide a safe enjoyable course - forced self-isolation of members of the instructor team, for example, would cause us significant problems.

We ask you to be flexible and understand the difficulties we face.

Please respond quickly to any requests to make sure we are ready ! There will be a final go-no-go review the week before Junior Week based on the latest position with the decision made by the Senior instructor team.
There is a slight alteration to the previously advertised schedule, forced on us by availability of the Senior instructor team and Safety boats.

LSC RYA Junior Week 2021 will now be:

Monday 23rd August - Friday 27th August.

This is one day later than previously advertised, although the formal RYA training will still be complete on Thursday 26th August.

The participants will be working towards RYA qualifications and will be awarded any levels gained at the end of the week.

The cost will be not more than £185

The timeline going forwards is:

Booking Form opens: 22nd July
We attempt to allocate the children to a suitable group depending on age and experience
Confirmation of offer of a place: 29th July

Deposit £50 to be paid immediately following confirmation of a place.

Receipt of deposit reserves a place

Final go-no-go Review 16th August

Upon go-no-go decision, balance of payment will be due immediately.

Parental involvement is a traditional element of LSC Junior Week and all parents are expected to volunteer to help with the smooth running of the week. This covid year we will see significant changes on what we can offer, especially off the water - safety and avoiding mass contamination or self- isolation will take priority. This will change our need for volunteers, more details will follow.
